
The Police in Ogun State has deployed personnel and operational assets to Eid prayer grounds, other places of worship, markets, highways, and major public spaces in order to ensure peaceful, secure, and a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The commandās Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, made this known on Wednesday in a statement issued in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Babaseyi reiterated the commandās commitment to the protection of worship centres, critical infrastructure, and the safety of all residents before, during, and after the festive period
He said, āIn line with this proactive approach, the Command has deployed personnel and operational assets in advance to strategic locations across the State. Special attention has been given to Eid prayer grounds and other places of worship, as well as markets, highways, and major public spaces.
āThese early deployments are reinforced with coordinated patrols, intelligence-led operations, and surveillance to deter criminal activities and ensure prompt response to any threat.ā
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, congratulated Muslim faithfuls in advance on the successful completion of Ramadan and extends best wishes for a peaceful and orderly Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
He reassured residents of the commandās firm commitment to maintaining law and order and safeguarding lives and property across the state, urging them to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the commands emergency lines.
