Ngoné Mbengue, interim mayor since the expulsion of Barthélemy Dias, sees his chair threatened. Les Échos reports that on the instruction of the Ministry of Local Government, Balla Moussa Fofana, the prefect of Dakar, has requested the convocation of the municipal council in extraordinary session to proceed to the election of a new mayor, at the latest on 27 August. Repris par la même source, le ministre a précisé que le recours en cassation brought by Barthélemy Dias has no suspensive effect. Ngoné Mbengue, as acting mayor, is responsible for convening the municipal council.
