Kwa-Thema – The EMPD Kwa-Thema precinct held a by-law enforcement operation at the Duduza Taxi Rank on Monday.

Officers inspected street hawkers and shops to check compliance with municipal by-laws and trading permit regulations.

Of the eight businesses inspected:
• Five hawkers did not have valid or up-to-date permits;
• Two failed to display their permits;
• Only one was fully compliant with a valid permit clearly visible.

The EMPD stressed that traders must comply with regulations to support order and fairness in the local economy.
