The interviews for the selection of the 250 candidates selected for agricultural jobs in Spain under the circular emigration agreement between Dakar and Madrid were concluded on Thursday at the International Centre for Foreign Trade in Senegal (CICES). Every day, 250 candidates, from the 14 regions of the country, have marched to try their luck. Passport in hand, chacun hoped to convince Spanish recruiters of his motivation and skills in the agricultural field. Inside the pavilion dedicated to enlistment operations, a long line stretched along the building. The sobriety of the decor contrasted with the importance of the stakes. Only a few computers and videoconference projectors connected the candidates to the Spanish authorities who were following and participating at a distance in the interviews. The questions concerned mainly the motivation of the candidates and their knowledge of the agricultural sector, a key selection criterion. Some candidates also noted that their hands were examined thoroughly by the examiners, probably to evaluate their manual experience and physical aptitude to perform agricultural work.
