The Enugu State Government has announced its preparedness to host the 23rd National Sports Festival. Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu, the state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, stated that they aim to provide a smooth experience for both athletes and officials. Ekweremadu indicated that they will facilitate a seamless accreditation process for journalists and ensure sufficient security for all attendees. “We will collaborate with SWAN executives to accredit the journalists covering the games,” he confirmed. “Governor Mbah is dedicated to guaranteeing the safety of every participant and guest throughout the festival.” Ekweremadu emphasized that the festival will not only focus on sports but will also highlight Enugu’s abundant tourism opportunities. “Enugu boasts numerous tourist destinations, peaceful scenery, stunning waterfalls, and a rich cultural heritage for everyone to appreciate,” he remarked.
