Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has voiced concerns about the hazardous temperatures during the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. He mentioned that playing in such high heat was perilous after Chelsea’s 2-0 victory against Fluminense in the semifinals. At a press conference on Friday, the Argentine midfielder described the playing conditions as very challenging, stating, “The heat is incredible.” He recalled feeling dizzy during a play, leading him to sit down, and emphasized that the extreme temperatures pose risks not only to the players but also to the spectators. Fernandez noted that the heat has also slowed the pace of the game. FIFA has introduced cooling breaks during each half to give players a brief respite from the intense conditions, with temperatures reaching as high as 95°F (35°C). Chelsea is scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain in the World Cup final on Sunday.
