EPL: Emmanuel Adebayor names greatest African player

Former Arsenal and Manchester City star,  Emmanuel Adebayor, has named the greatest African player to have played in the Premier League.

According to him, Mohamed Salah of Egypt is ahead Ivorian and former Chelsea attacker, Didier Drogba, in this ranking.

Speaking to Viaplay Premier Sunday, the former Tottenham and Real Madrid striker also hailed Al Nasir forward, Sadio Mane and former Ghana International Michael Essien as legends.

Adebayor said that he can travel 10 hours just to watch former Manchester City star, Riyad Mahrez and former Bolton Wanderers and Nigerian midfielder, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

He noted that Kolo Toure, Mikel John Obi, and Yaya Toure are football ‘greats.’

He referred Drogba as ‘the GOAT,’ saying Drogba is his ‘Premier League GOAT African’, but when Salah was mentioned, the former Togo International said, “188 goals up to date, and he’s still going.”

Chosen between Drogba and Salah, he said, “For me, Mo Salah would have to be the goat.”
