EPL: Ex-Liverpool star, Beglin blames Bassey for Ugochukwu’s goal in Fulham’s 3-2 win over Burnley

Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey has been blamed for Burnley’s equalising goal in Fulham’s 3-2 win on Saturday.

Former Liverpool defender, Jim Beglin, was not impressed with Bassey and Antonee Robinson’s display in the build-up to the goal.

Fulham took the lead at Turf Moor through Emile Smith Rowe, but Burnley fired back through Lesley Ugochukwu in what Beglin sees as a costly defensive mistake by Bassey and his partner, Robinson.

Beglin, who was analysing the game on Premier League world feed, hailed Josh Cullen for his intelligence and composure in the build-up to the goal.

“And Fulham are asking the question: how do we leave such a huge gap between us? Bassey and Robertson and it was exploited by Ugochukwu and beautifully taken,” he added.

Bassey scored one of the goals for Fulham as they beat Burnley 3-2.

Fulham remain 13th in the Premier League table despite the win.
