EPL: Michael Owen sends message to Salah after controversial comments on Liverpool, Slot 

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has sent a message to winger Mohamed Salah following his fiery remarks about the Reds and manager Arne Slot.

Recall that Salah had called out Liverpool and Slot for throwing him ‘under the bus’.

However, Owen expressed understanding of Salah’s feelings but stressed that such public comments were unnecessary, noting that the Egyptian international should be focusing on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

In a post on X on Sunday, the Englishman said: “Oh @mosalah, I can imagine how you feel. You’ve carried this team for a long time and won everything there is to win.

“But this is a team game and you simply can’t publicly say what you’ve said. You’re going to AFCON in a week.

“Surely you bite your lip, enjoy representing your country and see how the land lies when you get back?”

Meanwhile, former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp has suggested that Salah could leave the club at the end of the season following his recent comments.
