EPL: Rio Ferdinand names team that could end Arsenal’s title charge

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has said that Arsenal’s next Premier League fixture against Bournemouth could prove decisive in the title race.

Ferdinand claimed it could be “goodnight” for the Gunners if they fail to beat the Cherries on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s men have been dumped out of two competitions in the last two weeks, losing to Manchester City and Southampton in the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup quarter-final respectively.

Arsenal, however, remains in a position to win their first league trophy since 2004 and lift the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

They boast a nine-point lead over Manchester City going into the weekend.

“They’ve got Bournemouth at the weekend and that’s a tough game, if you don’t win that game… wow,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

“And then you’ve got an in-form Man City the week after? It could be goodnight.”
