Chelsea defender, Marc Cucurella has revealed he wanted to join Manchester City over the Blues in the past.
According to the Spain international, his move to Manchester City failed after Pep Guardiola’s side failed to reach an agreement with Brighton.
The left-back insisted that the Cityzens were on fire, adding that he wanted to move to the Etihad Stadium.
Cucurella moved from Premier League club Brighton to the Blues for £60m in 2022.
“Man City were on fire and were one of the best teams in the world,” Cucurella told El Desmarque. “I absolutely wanted to go.
“When they come like they did, and when Pep Guardiola asks you to, you will crawl there on your knees if necessary.
“But the clubs could not reach an agreement. Brighton had exorbitant.”
