EPL: They’re truly terrible and not working well under Amorim – Michael Owen criticizes Man U

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has criticized the Red Devils after their 2-0 loss to Wolves on Boxing Day at Molineux. He described Manchester United’s performance against Wolves as terrible, particularly in their attacking play. The ex-England international pointed out that United is not operating well under manager Ruben Amorim. “When I watched the Manchester United team against Wolves, they had three players marking one at the back; you’d never see a Liverpool team do that. They would mark individually and send any extra players into offensive positions,” Owen told Premier League Productions. “That’s what he [Amorim] is probably aiming for, but right now, even if they weren’t conceding many goals, I wouldn’t get too optimistic because the team isn’t functioning effectively. They were dreadful going forward; I can’t recall a single chance they created today [against Wolves].” The outcome of the match against Wolves has placed United in 14th place in the Premier League standings.
