Escroquerie based on the QNET system: Several people arrested at Zac Mbao

The Commissariat d’Arrondissement de Zac Mbao has put an end to the activities of a fraudulent network operating under the cover of the QNET system. Thirteen individuals were arrested following a complaint lodged by a victim to whom they had extorted the sum of 450 000 CFA francs. According to the first elements of the investigation, the suspects lured their targets with false promises of business opportunities and quick gains, using manipulations and false formations to better despoil them. The police operation, launched after several reports, led to the seizure of a large quantity of work equipment placed under seal. This coup de filet once again sheds light on the deviousness of a system which, under commercial appearances, often conceals the practices of network fraud. While the country is still in shock after the recent tragedy in Ghana, where the young Senegalese footballer Cheikh Touré was found dead after being trapped by fake players’ agents posing as recruiters. On his arrival on Ghanaian territory, he was kidnapped, then his family was ransomed to the tune of 850 000 CFA francs. Despite the payment of a part of the amount, the young man was finally killed, his kidnappers allant jusqu’à envoyer des photos macabre à ses proches, plunging tout un pays dans la stupeur et l’indignation.
