The Atlas Lionesses initially led 2-0 in the first half, with goals from Ghizlane Chebbak and Saana Mssoudy. However, the Super Falcons responded with goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and substitute Jennifer Echegini to secure the victory. Additionally, President Tinubu expressed his congratulations to the Super Falcons on their WAFCON 2024 success. In response to the thrilling return, Everton women posted on X: “Toni Payne and the @NGSuper_Falcons have claimed the title of African champions!” The Super Falcons triumphed over Morocco in a thrilling final, rallying to secure victory in the #WAFCON with a goal in the 88th minute. After her outstanding display, in which she scored and assisted twice in the final, Okoronkwo was awarded Player of the Match for the game against Morocco.
