Exclusive: I have a positive outlook that Warri Wolves will maintain their position in the NPFL.

Former Nigerian football player Friday Ekpo has expressed confidence that Warri Wolves will maintain their position in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). Once a prominent team in Nigerian soccer, Warri Wolves have successfully returned to the NPFL after a four-year absence. Their Super 8 performance was impressive, as they finished first in Group B and secured their comeback with a 2-1 victory against Crown FC, ultimately winning the Super 8 title after a dramatic 3-2 win against Wikki Tourists in the final. Ekpo shared his insights during a conversation with Completesports. Ekpo noted that Warri Wolves ought to have taken valuable lessons from their last season in the NPFL and will aim to avoid going through another relegation fight. I am thrilled that Warri Wolves are back in the NPFL after being away for four years. The team spent a significant amount of time, but eventually, they returned home, learned what was required, and executed it correctly. They have successfully nurtured young, skilled athletes, investing their efforts into qualifying, which they have accomplished. “Their return is solely due to their identity as Warri Wolves, and they have a specific goal in mind.” I think they have finally grasped the basics. Regardless of their achievements, I anticipate that they will continue to uphold their NPFL status, which they truly deserve. “With a mix of seasoned athletes and emerging talent, Warri Wolves are anticipated to showcase both determination and style in the upcoming 2025/26 season.”
