According to L’Observateur, the hearing must allow the Court to determine whether the Senegalese application respects international conventions, notably on procedural guarantees and rights of defence. La même source rappelle que Madiambal Diagne, retranché en France après avoir quitté illégalement le Sénégal, via la Gambie, est visé par un mandat d’arrêt international. He was arrested in the early hours of the following day, and was subsequently transferred to a detention facility. As a consequence of this case in Dakar, his wife and his two adult children, co-partners in the SCI Pharaon, were arrested and placed under mandat de dépôt. La défense de Madiambal Diagne (composed of Senegalese and French lawyers) held a strategic meeting in Paris to harmonize its arguments. Their main objective is to obtain the annulment of the extradition procedure, indique le quotidien du Groupe futurs médias.
