Farba Ngom face to justice: a warrant to appear in a case of 125 billion FCFA

This Monday, in the premises of the Criminal Investigations Division (DIC), the deputy mayor of Agnam, Farba Ngom, was officially notified of a warrant of appearance issued by the Pool judiciaire financier (PJF). This mandate is part of an investigation into allegations of money laundering, for an amount provisionally estimated at 125 billion CFA francs. According to information relayed by Source A in its edition of Tuesday 11 February, this judicial procedure requires Farba Ngom to appear compulsorily before the competent judge. “Unlike a simple summons, the mandate of appearance is coercive in nature. If the interested party does not comply with this requirement, the judge is entitled to issue a warrant of arrest, authorizing his immediate arrest “, underlines le journal. This measure is intended to guarantee the cooperation of the accused in the course of the investigation. Moreover, sources close to the dossier reveal that this investigation is part of a wider strategy to combat corruption and money laundering. The astronomical amount mentioned in this case reflects the extent of the suspicions that weigh on the deputy mayor of Agnam, known for his influential role within the Alliance for the Republic (APR). In this context, Farba Ngom is obliged to respond to this judicial injunction, failing which he could be arrested at his domicile or in any other place.
