Sudanese club Al Merrikh has acquired midfielder Babajide Fatokun from Remo Stars. The announcement of the signing was made on their X account on Tuesday. Fatokun has signed a three-year contract. The 26-year-old player was part of the Super Eagles B team that qualified for this year’s Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), participating in both legs of the playoffs against Ghana’s Black Galaxies, which the Super Eagles B clinched with a 3-1 aggregate victory. Al-Merrikh was originally established as Al-Masalma Sporting Club in 1908 by students from the Al-Masalmah district, under the leadership of chairman Jek Deng Aban Gorang at Gordon Memorial College in Omdurman. The club changed its name to Al-Merrikh Sporting Club on November 14, 1927. Known for its intense rivalry with Al-Hilal, Al-Merrikh has secured the Sudanese league title 23 times.
