Sanni, a former Abia Warriors Assistant Coach, spoke on his team’s readiness for the final match — the club’s first-ever appearance in the President Federation Cup Final.. On their road to the June 28 final at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, Abakaliki FC edged out four NPFL teams, including Katsina United, Nasarawa United, Enyimba, and Ikorodu City, to earn their ‘giant-killers’ reputation.. Coach Sanni told Completesports.com on Tuesday night that his team is not perturbed by Abakaliki’s status, emphasising that Kwara United also eliminated some NNL sides — Cynosure, Solution FC, among others — en route to the final.. “We’re not worried about them being called ‘giant-killers’,” Sanni said. “That doesn’t worry us at all. We’re an experienced team. And of course, we too met and defeated some NNL teams on our way to the final.. “We can only respect them for getting this far, but we can’t fret just because they defeated some NPFL teams,” added the former International Breweries Limited (IBL FC), Ilesha, player.. Sanni also had an illustrious playing career at NEPA Lagos and Kwara United before switching to coaching. He took over the Kwara United coaching job after Kabiru Dogo stepped down..
