Juventus opened the scoring just six minutes into the match when Abdelmounaim Boutouil inadvertently redirected Yildiz’s attempt into his own goal. Yildiz then showcased a stunning strike, potentially a candidate for the tournament’s best goal, ten minutes later. Wydad kept their hopes alive in the 25th minute when Thembinkosi Lorch received a pass from Nordin Amrabat and scored against Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. Yildiz extended the lead in the 69th minute after being assisted by Randal Kolo Muani. In stoppage time, Juventus was granted a penalty when Guilherme Ferreira committed a foul on Dusan Vlahovic in the box, and the Serbian striker successfully converted the penalty, adding to the scoreline.
