Fight against financial crime: the Embassy of the United States offers more than 30 portable computers to the Pôle Judiciaire Financier

Last week, the team of the United States Embassy in Dakar handed over more than 30 laptops to the Pôle Judiciaire Financier (PJF), the diplomatic representation indicated on Thursday on its Facebook page. According to the Embassy’s services, “these portable computers will be used by Senegalese judges and prosecutors to deal more effectively with financial crimes, including drug-related crimes. I’m not sure. This initiative is part of the ongoing cooperation between the United States and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). It reflects the common will to combat drug trafficking and the financial crimes associated with it. This specialised jurisdiction, set up last year, has the task of investigating and prosecuting financial crimes, in particular those related to drug trafficking and money laundering. Thanks to this donation, Senegalese judges and prosecutors will now have additional technological tools to improve the handling of cases and enhance the effectiveness of investigations.
