Fire at Ocass de Touba market: more than 30 canteens consumed by fire

Last night was particularly long at the Ocass de Touba market where a fire, occurred around 1 o’clock in the morning, destroyed more than thirty canteens as well as the tables of merchants. At the approach of the Tabaski, women’s clothing and accessories were reduced to ashes. The previous day, these articles had been carefully stored in the canteens, but they were completely destroyed by the flames. On the spot, collapsed kiosks with their roofs exposed to the sun bear witness to the scale of the catastrophe. Some vendors, who had recently stocked their boutiques in anticipation of the Tabaski, lost everything in the fire. At the time of the incident, several traders were still there. It was therefore they who intervened first, demolishing the canteens and trying to control the flames with the available means, awaiting the arrival of the firefighters.
