Aliou Sall, brother of former President Macky Sall and former mayor of Guédiawaye, and his wife Aïssata Sall, have been granted provisional freedom on Monday, October 13, after having lodged a solidarity deposit of 240 million FCFA with the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations. Placed in custody since 10 October at the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), the couple was presented to the judicial financial pool on the basis of a report by the National Financial Information Processing Cell (CENTIF). The complaints relate to transactions considered suspicious in connection with the acquisition of land in Almadie by their société civile immobilière (SCI), of which Aliou Sall holds 99% of the capital. Two financial movements have attracted attention: a payment of 170 million FCFA presented as coming from a partnership with the Sertem company, and another of 70 million qualified as a personal loan already repaid. CENTIF suspects a possible money laundering, although the lawyers of the couple affirm that all the operations are justified and without link with other files like the Petrotim case. In a message posted on social networks, Aliou Sall expresses his deep gratitude: “We do not find the words strong enough to thank all those who have mobilized to support us. Our gratitude goes first of all to the populations of Guédiawaye who spontaneously came to express their solidarity before the premises of the DIC and the judicial financial pool.
