Parliamentary diplomacy traces its course and bears its fruit. For the first time in history, 56 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations, a president of the Vietnamese National Assembly makes an official visit to Senegal. At the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of Senegal, Mr El Malick Ndiaye, his Vietnamese counterpart, Mr Trần Thanh Mẫn, is on an official visit to Dakar from 22 to 24 July 2025. On this occasion, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Mr Đặng Hoàng Giang, gave an interview to the Vietnamese press in which he praised the excellence of bilateral relations between Senegal and Vietnam. Since the establishment of their diplomatic relations in 1969, the two countries have cooperated closely in several multilateral fora, including the United Nations, the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) and the Interparliamentary Union (UIP), he stressed. The economic relations between Senegal and Vietnam are also making significant progress. According to him, the visit of President Trần Thanh Mẫn should give a new impetus to this bilateral cooperation, in particular on the economic level, while strengthening the consultations in the multilateral forums where Senegal plays an important role. It concluded by affirming that this visit will also contribute to deepening parliamentary relations between the two nations. Below is the lien of the interview. This is a list of countries by coal production, based mostly on the results of the United Nations Geological Survey (UNGS).
