​Flooding in Touba: the government allocates a budget of 2.5 billion FCFA 

  In view of the floods affecting the Diourbel region, the Government has released 2.5 billion FCFA. This envelope is intended to evacuate the stagnant waters and to come to the aid of the affected populations, notably in Touba, where the situation remains critical. The Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Dr Cheikh Tidiane DIEYE, has just completed a two-day tour of the Diourbel region, which was badly affected by the floods, to implement the emergency plan. From Bambey to Diourbel, en passant by Mbacké, several disaster sites were visited in order to assess the situation and to provide emergency response to the populations. In Touba, the situation is difficult notably in Kawsara, Degg Dakhar, Nguiranene, still under water. In view of the identified needs, the Government has decided to allocate an exceptional envelope of 2.5 billion FCFA to provide relief to the affected populations. A support that reinforces the emergency plan implemented by the MHA. According to him, 1 billion FCFA will be devoted to urgent drainage works to evacuate the waters, while 1,5 billion will be used for direct assistance to the population: foodstuffs, means of subsistence, accommodation equipment.
