Footage has emerged showing the moment an Iranian drone struck Nakhchivan International Airport, hitting the terminal building and sending debris into the air.
According to the BBC, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that Iranian drones targeted the country on Thursday.
Officials said one drone hit the airport’s terminal, while another landed near a school in Shekarabad village.
The newly released video reportedly captures the impact on the terminal structure, with visible damage to part of the building.
According to authorities two civilians were injured in the incident.
Following the strike near the school, local educational facilities were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, summoned Iran’s ambassador to lodge a formal protest, and placed troops on high alert along the border.
