Elisha Abbo, a former lawmaker from Adamawa North Senatorial District, expressed regret over his transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) without seeking divine guidance. He disclosed that he has since taken a lesson from this experience and has spent 31 days fasting and praying for God’s direction regarding his next political steps. In a post on his official X account, Abbo admitted that when he switched from the PDP to the APC in 2020, he failed to seek spiritual direction. “I made my departure based on concrete reasons and instinct, and I aligned myself with the APC through rational decision-making and to adapt to the current situation,” he stated. Abbo was initially elected to the Senate in 2019 representing the PDP before switching to the APC in 2020. He was re-elected in 2023 under the APC banner, but the court later removed him and affirmed that the PDP’s candidate, Amos Yohanna, was the true victor.
