Former Chelsea player Oscar makes a return to his youth club Sao Paulo.

Former Chelsea midfielder Oscar is making a return to his childhood club Sao Paulo in Brazil after 14 years, including a significant time in Chinese soccer. Sao Paulo president Julio Casares shared photos on his social media on Tuesday, featuring him alongside the 33-year-old ex-Brazil international. Casares referred to the move as “an excellent transfer.” Shortly after, Oscar expressed his gratitude to Shanghai Port, where he spent eight seasons, for his experience with the Chinese Super League team. “Today, I conclude a chapter that will forever impact my life,” he stated (according to Yahoo Sport). “I depart with a heart brimming with thankfulness and pride for all that we accomplished together.” Oscar signed with Sao Paulo without any transfer fee. Neither the Brazilian club nor the player revealed how long their agreement lasts, but local media suggested he has signed a three-year contract. Oscar is going back to a club he had previously left in 2010 to join another Brazilian team, Internacional. In 2012, he moved to Chelsea, where he won one Europa League title and two Premier League trophies. Oscar transferred to Shanghai during Chelsea’s 2016-17 season for a reported fee of $73 million. He secured three Super League championships in China and gained popularity among fans in Asia. Oscar represented Brazil in the 2014 World Cup, scoring the lone goal during their 7-1 semifinal loss to Germany, who eventually claimed the tournament title. Do you have what it takes?
