Former Ecuadorian star believes Paez will exceed the achievements of Messi and Neymar.

Carlos Tenorio, a former Ecuadorian international, believes that Strasbourg midfielder Kendry Paez has the potential to outshine both Lionel Messi and Neymar. The 18-year-old recently became a Chelsea player, having joined the team this summer, two years after his initial signing. Although Paez was unable to transition from his childhood club, Independiente del Valle, to the UK until he reached the appropriate age, he will not immediately play for Chelsea. Instead, he has been loaned to Strasbourg, a sister club of BlueCo, to help him acclimate to European football in a less intense league than the Premier League. In an interview with L’Equipe, Tenorio expressed his firm conviction that Paez can exceed the abilities of Messi and Neymar. “He possesses the potential to surpass Leo Messi and Neymar, but it ultimately relies on him and his support system,” Tenorio stated. “This is the first instance I’ve encountered a player with such characteristics.” I believe he has all the qualities to be among the most significant players in global football. In 2023, Páez became the youngest player ever to represent Ecuador internationally, making his senior debut at the age of 16.
