Former Minister Mbaye Ndiaye brought to justice for the destruction of an administrative building

The leaders of the Alliance pour la République (APR) des Parcelles Assainies reacted vigorously to the summons to justice of their comrade Mbaye Ndiaye, former Minister of the Interior and former Minister of State under the regime of Macky Sall. They qualified this judicial action as an “attempt of political humiliation”. According to the local coordination of the APR, M. Ndiaye is prosecuted by the Société nationale de gestion et d’exploitation du patrimoine bâti de l’État (SOGEPA), which accuses him of having deteriorated an administrative housing occupied more than ten years ago. The damage is estimated at more than 50 million FCFA. Or, the APR officials assert that “the former minister, concerned with the comfort and functionality of the place, would have himself invested more than 200 million FCFA to renovate and enlarge the house, transforming it in particular into a residence of 15 rooms “… “It is paradoxical that he should be accused today of deterioration when he has personally committed himself to improving the living conditions of the building”, said the members of the coordination, denouncing an affair which, according to them, should have been settled amicably. They did not fail to point out what they consider to be selective justice: “When the current president modified the presidential palace to house his family, no one saw a scandal. Why then this acrimony against a man who has served the State loyally for several decades?
