Former President Jonathan’s ex-Aide de Camp, Moses Jituboh, passes away at 54

Moses Jituboh, the former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away at the age of 54 after a short illness. Efforts are currently being made to perform an autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death. Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his time as governor of Bayelsa State and continued in that role when Jonathan became Vice President and then President of Nigeria. After Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh returned to regular police work, advancing through the ranks and at one point being considered for the position of Inspector General of Police. He retired from the Nigeria Police Force in 2023, after serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of the Department of Research and Planning and later the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Force Headquarters. The Zone 16 Police Command in Bayelsa State has expressed its condolences to Jituboh’s family and the people of Bayelsa. AIG Adebola Hamzat described Jituboh’s passing as a significant loss, noting that he joined the Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. “The statement emphasized that his contributions to the Nigeria Police Force, commitment to service, and integrity will always be remembered. The police highlighted Jituboh’s lasting legacy of professionalism and dedication, stating that his passing is a great loss not just to his family but also to the people of Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police Force, and the entire country.”
