Former Spartak Moscow player expresses confidence in Russia’s ability to overcome the Super Eagles.

Eduard Mor, a former defender for Spartak Moscow, believes that Russia will triumph over Nigeria’s Super Eagles in their international friendly match today (Friday). This encounter marks the first meeting at the senior level between the two teams, taking place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. The Super Eagles arrive at this match after recently winning the Unity Cup in London. However, they will be missing several key players, including Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Stanley Nwabali, and Calvin Bassey. Mor, a two-time champion of the Russian Premier League with Spartak, expressed disappointment over the absence of Osimhen and other prominent Nigerian players. He believes that Russia will take advantage of the weaknesses in the Super Eagles’ defense. Additionally, Russian midfielder Glebov has highlighted the challenge they expect to face against the Super Eagles. “It’s unfortunate that Osimhen, the star player of the Nigerian national team, didn’t participate,” the 47-year-old said to championat.com. Subsequently, a number of well-known individuals declined. However, they are more offensively robust than any of the rivals we have faced. However, regarding their defense, I don’t believe they will put in much effort to avoid giving up goals. As a result, the Russian national team is likely to score more goals and achieve victory. The game is expected to be highly focused on scoring. At the very least, they will cause us difficulties. The Nigerian team is quite capable of scoring.
