With the continued support from partners, the Thabang Xaba Foundation hopes to expand its outreach and bring more smiles to the faces of children in need.

Kwa Thema Primary School received a donation of school shoes from the Thabang Xaba Foundation last Thursday.

The foundation handed over the school shoes as part of its ongoing initiative to support local children in need.

This campaign stemmed from an initiative by the foundation’s staff, who collectively contributed to providing school shoes after identifying a need during an awareness campaign in the surrounding areas of Extension 3, Marikana, and Barcelona.

The campaign received a warm welcome from the school’s principal, Marcus More, who expressed his gratitude for the partnership with the foundation.

“Thank you so much for the school shoe contribution, as you can see, the need is definitely there. We appreciate organisations like Thabang Xaba Foundation and EMPD who are lending a helping hand where necessary.

“I would like this partnership to be strong, and together we can make a difference in our kids’ lives. Thanks again,” said More.

The event included a special assembly, where the foundation was joined by the EMPD Anti-Crime Unit. The session included a presentation on road safety by Mpho Mohapi and a session on bullying led by Sbongile Nxumalo.

These presentations added value to the event, addressing critical issues affecting students. Mxolisi Shibambu, centre manager of the Thabang Xaba Foundation, shared his thoughts on the experience.

“We have also identified more learners during the school handover, and it broke my heart to see that there are still many kids in need.

“We encourage anyone—whether stakeholders, businesses, or individuals—who are willing to lend a helping hand to partner with us by donating shoes at our office.

“We’ll ensure that these shoes are distributed to the schools. We will also be doing a follow-up visit to ensure the beneficiaries are wearing these shoes and to assess other needs related to the children’s livelihoods.”

With the continued support from partners, the Thabang Xaba Foundation hopes to expand its outreach and bring more smiles to the faces of children in need.

To contribute, the Thabang Xaba Foundation encourages the public to donate school shoes at their office or contact the office on 0683926765, where they will be distributed to children in need.
