Gaindesat-1A: The lion of space continues its mission with success

Launched into orbit on 16 August last, this technological jewel completes a complete tour of the Earth in just 90 minutes, or about 16 revolutions per day, including two passages over Senegal. During these flights, the SENSAT space project team has a seven-minute window to communicate with the engine and collect crucial information. The first data transmitted confirm the capabilities of GAINDESAT-1A in terms of remote sensing, environmental observation and monitoring of climate change. A major breakthrough for Senegal, which thus strengthens its presence in the space domain and opens the way to new scientific and technological applications.
