The dismissal of Dr. Maïssa Ndao, médecin vacataire at the Grand-Dakar health centre, has aroused a lively contestation among his colleagues. Considering this decision as arbitrary and motivated by his criticisms of the financial management of the centre, they threatened to paralyse the public hospitals. “We await the reply of the Syndicat autonome des médecins, pharmaciens et chirurgiens-dentistes (Sames) to the question put by the French Government. If he does not react, we will stop all services in public structures, threatens El Hadji Babacar Ndoye, doctor of training and spokesman of the Mouvement des jeunes médecins du Sénégal. He accuses him of having disturbed the session by imposing force and raising his voice.
