A four-year-old Palestinian girl, Rezzan Abu Zahir, died Sunday in Gaza from complications related to severe malnutrition, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA. L’hôpital des Martyrs d’Al-Aqsa has confirmed the death, underlining the growing humanitarian crisis in the region. Hundreds of cases of malnutrition have been reported. According to WAFA, many Palestinians, of all ages, are currently suffering from extreme malnutrition in Gaza’s hospitals. The situation is particularly worrying for children. More than 17 000 children affected. More than 17 000 children suffer from acute malnutrition in Gaza, some being hospitalized for hunger-related disorders, such as intense stress and memory loss.
