The Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State, Ibrahim Musa Fakas, has openly criticised former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, accusing him of neglecting the party and its members while in office.
Fakas made the remarks on Tuesday at the APC state secretariat in Gombe when Pantami visited the party office for the ongoing electronic registration and revalidation exercise.
Addressing party stakeholders in Pantamiās presence, the APC chieftain said resentment against the former minister was widespread among party executives and supporters in the state.
āEvery APC executive here feels hurt by you,ā Fakas said. āYou wronged the party, and anyone who tells you that party members are happy with you is lying.ā
He alleged that Pantami failed to relate with the APC structure in Gombe throughout his tenure as minister, despite occupying what he described as a historic position for an indigene of the state.
āYou held a position that no other person from Gombe has ever held,ā Fakas said. āYet from the time you became minister until you left office, you never once visited the party secretariat.ā
Fakas further accused the former minister of abandoning party loyalists and refusing to offer support at critical moments, a situation he said had damaged Pantamiās standing within the party.
āBecause of this attitude, many people now see you as belonging to another party, the ADC,ā he concluded.
Pantami, who served as minister from 2019 to 2023, has not reacted to the allegations.
The visit to the secretariat was part of his participation in the APCās e-registration and revalidation exercise.
