
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has commiserated with residents of Rogo Local Government Area following a fire outbreak on Thursday that destroyed parts of the Rogo General Hospital.
A statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, the governor described the incident as “unfortunate and deeply saddening,” saying that hospitals are critical lifelines that must be protected from disruption.
Hr expresses his heartfelt sympathy to the people of Rogo over the fire incident that destroyed sections of the General Hospital, saying that the government views the incident as a serious setback, especially to healthcare delivery in the area.
Yusuf ordered an immediate assessment of the damage and directed officials to submit a comprehensive report without delay in order to put the affected parts to use without delay.
The governor also mandated the “full renovation and rehabilitation” of the affected parts of the hospital to ensure that medical services resume as quickly as possible.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the 44 local government areas of the state, assuring the people of Rogo that the government will take every necessary step to rebuild the damaged facility and enhance service delivery.
