Gov Mutfwang bans illegal roadblocks across Plateau to ease tensions

Caleb Mutfwang, the Governor of Plateau State, has announced an immediate ban on all illegal roadblocks across the 17 local government areas of the state.

He also said only authorised security operatives are permitted to mount checkpoints.

The governor warned that any community violating the directive will have its leaders held accountable.

He also cautioned individuals and groups spreading misinformation or inciting unrest, especially on social media, to desist immediately.

“Actions capable of undermining the peace and stability of Plateau State will not be tolerated,” Mutfwang stressed.

The move underscores the government’s commitment to protecting lives, maintaining order, and promoting lasting peace across the state.

DAILY POST recalls that a few days ago, scores were killed in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state, following attacks in the Doorway Babuje community and on travellers.

The aforementioned incidents have raised tension in the metropolis and surrounding areas.
