Cheikh Tidiane Gadio (not to be confused with the former Minister of Foreign Affairs under Wade from 2000 to 2009) is no longer the President of the Supervisory Board of the Local Development Agency. The APR’s leader, in office for 12 years, has decided to resign, Les Échos reports. “By decree number 2013-229 of 7 February 2013, le Président Macky Sall has given me the honour of being appointed à la tête du Conseil de surveillance de l’Agence de développement local. It was a mark of trust that allowed me to serve my country, Senegal, for almost 12 years. For this, I would like to thank him from the bottom of my heart and express my deepest gratitude to him. That said, I come, by the present, to inform you of my resignation as President of the Supervisory Board of the Local Development Agency as of today”, he wrote. Gadio de préciser: “After these years of good and loyal service, [I remain] at the disposal of my country for future battles and the great challenges to be met for the construction of an emerging Senegal”.
