Getting ready for your Holy Audio person…
The Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Dr. Randy Abbey, has announced that the government has completely eliminated the 50 % cost that cocoa farmers originally paid for fertilizers in a bold move to boost Ghana’s coconut business and improve the security of cocoa gardening families.
Dr. Abbey emphasized that cocoa farmers will then receive free fertilizers, which he described as a strong intervention to help Ghanaian cocoa farmers increase their productivity and support their livelihoods during a client engagement session.
Farmers were required to pay 50 % of the price for nutrients in the past. That problem has now been removed. Farmers are then entirely supplied at no cost to the farmer, according to Dr. Abbey.
Dr. Abbey even revealed a new primary scholarship program for the kids of cocoa farmers in addition to the manure pleasure. He claims that the program aims to inspire producers and make it easier for their families to get into higher education. As a way to inspire the Ghanaian coconut farmer, he added,” We’ll also be giving free scholarships to children of cocoa farmers in primary establishments.”
These efforts are a part of COCOBOD’s and the government’s wider efforts to boost productivity, revive the cocoa industry, and handle the socio-economic issues facing producers across the nation.
Some agricultural sector stakeholders have praised the announcement as a proper step that will help farmers reduce their financial strain while encouraging the development of farming communities.
As a result of these reforms, Ghana is expected to maintain its position as one of the nation’s top cocoa producers, helping to boost both produce and farmer welfare.
