Haaland Breaks Premier League Record During Manchester City’s Match Against Brighton.

Erling Haaland established a new Premier League milestone by scoring in Manchester City’s 2-2 tie against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. He netted the opening goal for City with a penalty in the 11th minute. As reported by Squawka, this goal marked Haaland’s total of 116 direct goal involvements in the Premier League, occurring in his 94th match. He is now the first player to achieve 100 goal involvements in the league in less than 100 appearances. The former record, held by Premier League all-time leading scorer Alan Shearer, required exactly 100 games to reach 100 involvements. Haaland’s tally consists of 84 goals and 16 assists, making him second only to Salah (103) in direct goal contributions since he joined the Premier League. Additionally, he is the fourth player from Manchester City to reach 100 direct goal involvements in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola, joining the ranks of Kevin De Bruyne (171), Raheem Sterling (125), and Sergio Aguero (103).
