Madiambal Diagne is formal: the judicial proceedings launched against him and a part of his family constitute a plan ordered by the Prime Minister to eliminate him. “Ousmane Sonko who, for many years, has tried to have my skin, has succeeded in pleasing men and women ready to satisfy his desire to ‘wipe me’. It is the pretext of a fallacious judicial dossier that has allowed them to pursue my person, to the point of taking my wife, my children and a close friend hostage”, points the journalist in a text bearing his signature published in Le Quotidien. Ce journal est édité par le groupe Avenir communication que Madiambal Diagne a fondé et dirigé, pendant près de 20 ans, avant de passer la main à son fils, Serigne Saliou Diagne.. This journal is edited by the Avenir communication group that Madiambal Diagne founded and directed, during nearly 20 years, before passing the hand to his son, Serigne Saliou Diagne.. In the article, Madiambal Diagne thanked “his Senegalese compatriots as well as all the friends around the world who have been concerned about his physical safety in recent days”. He then goes back to the circumstances of his departure for France, despite a ban on leaving the country, talks to the Minister of the Interior, Bamba Cissé, punishes the dismissal of the heads of the DIC and the Special Police Commissariat of the airport and recalls the composition of his pool of lawyers. The journalist is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued in the framework of the investigation into allegedly suspicious movements of funds, traced in a CENTIF report. After his escape, his wife, the manager of the company that had received the funds, two of his children, Serigne Saliou et Mouhamed, and an individual presented as his marabout – “a close friend”, according to the person concerned – were arrested and placed under a deposit mandate.
