On Thursday 31 July, at the Grand Théâtre national, a moment of emotion seized the audience during the ceremony of the 2025 General Competition. The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, has awarded the very first Gaïdée de la performance medal to a young man with an exceptional background: Pape Natango Mbaye, bachelor in series S2, mention Bien. What’s so special? He writes all his trials with his feet. Originally from Kaolack, Pape Natango Mbaye was born without bras. Yet, he followed all his schooling by adapting: it is with his feet that he reads, writes, draws, works.
