Health, precariousness, isolation: A deputy warns of the plight of Senegalese abroad

Mr Amadou Diallo, Member of the Groupe Pastef les Patriotes, addressed a written question to the Government on the worrying situation of Senegalese irregulars abroad, particularly in Italy and Spain, where many of them live in great poverty. He recalled that these migrants, often young, undertake a perilous journey across the desert or the sea, risking their lives in the hope of a better future. Many suffer from traumas and mental health problems, aggravated by isolation and the lack of institutional support. Some of these migrants, in distress and without prospects, wish to return to Senegal, but face financial difficulties. Faced with this alarming situation, Amadou Diallo asks the Secretary of State to know what concrete measures are planned to help these compatriots and whether there is a voluntary return aid system, in particular for those suffering from psychological problems.
