The home-based Super Eagles continued their preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) by defeating Ojodu City 2-0 on Friday. The friendly match took place at the Remo Stars Stadium training pitch in Ikenne. Afeez Bankole from Kwara United and Anthony Ijeoma from Abia Warriors scored the goals for the Super Eagles. This was the second test match for coach Eric Chelle’s team since starting their training camp in Ikenne for CHAN 2024. Additionally, it was reported that a forward from the Super Falcons has been sidelined due to a hand injury ahead of WAFCON 2024. Earlier this week, they claimed a 1-0 victory over the current champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Remo Stars. The Eagles are anticipated to engage in additional friendly matches prior to the competition’s commencement. Nigeria has been drawn to face defending champions Senegal, as well as Sudan and Congo in Group D. The tournament will be held from August 2 to August 30, co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
