​Homosexuality in Spain: Two undocumented Senegalese decorated for their heroic act 

  Magatte Ndiaye and Ibrahima Diack, two Senegalese migrants, were named “adoptive sons” of the city of La Corogne for having tried to save Samuel Luiz, a homosexual violently attacked in 2021. Despite their efforts, the victim did not survive, arousing a national indignation. During the ceremony, on Monday 24 February, the mayor Inés Rey saluted their heroism, underlining that they had been the only ones to intervene in the face of the aggressors. In November 2023, Les Echos reports, four men were convicted for this crime, of which the main accused to 24 years of prison for aggression with a homophobic character
