Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has welcomed a group of members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, into the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The governor disclosed this in a post on his official X handle, noting that the group was led by Evang. Mike Ikokwu.
According to Uzodimma, “The new trajectory for Imo State development is yielding remarkable results, and no progressive minded person desires to be left behind.”
He added, “This renewed momentum is inspired by our deep love for our dear State, which unquestionably belongs to all of us and we must join hands in advancing its growth, strengthening our shared vision, and securing lasting prosperity for our people.”
Speaking on the defection, the governor said, “It was with great pleasure that I welcomed a distinguished group of Imolites, led by Evang. Mike Ikokwu, from the opposition party, the PDP, into our progressive family, the All Progressives Congress, APC.”
He described their decision as one that “highlights a collective commitment to the greater good of our State,” stressing that his administration remains focused on sustainable progress.
Uzodimma further stated that the state would continue to align with national politics, drawing from what he described as the purposeful leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
