Nigerian actress Ini Edo has opened up about her personal and emotional journey with infertility, revealing that she has experienced over six miscarriages and failed in vitro fertilization ( IVF ) procedures. In a recent event of the reality TV series ‘Young, Famous & African’, the 42-year-old movie star shared how her ovulation challenges shaped her course to motherhood. “ I got married at the age of 26 because I thought at 31 I would have been done with pregnancy and would have retired and focused on my profession. But existence did not pan out that way, ” she said. “ I have had over six pregnancies. I do not like to get into it. I tried. It was not a expensive way out for me. I have often wanted to do this. I have had IVF. I know what I have dealt with as a person. ” “My trip is one that I have not really been wanting to talk about because it is private, ” she revealed. “ I went through infertility. I previously thought I would be someone who may have fertility problems. But I have had problems carrying babies long-term. And it looked like it was not going to happen the way I wanted it to happen. But, this opportunity came and I took it. ” Edo shared that after exploring different alternatives, infertility became the way she chose. Although she had first hesitated to formally discuss this determination, she felt it was important to discuss her knowledge in the hope of inspiring people in similar circumstances. In 2023, Ini Edo fulfilled her dream of parenting through infertility. She also shared that her second position is influenced by her doubts of dating a dangerous partner. East married US-based business Philip Ehiagwina in 2008, but the pair divorced in 2014. Now, she continues to understand her journey toward parenting while embracing the difficulties and joys of life as a family. Study ALSO: Refused A UK Visa?
