I have written a letter to Clédor Ly:

My dear friend Ciré, I have read with attention and respect your contribution entitled “Devoir de convergence”, published with the eloquence and vigour with which you are known from the benches of the Lycée Charles De Gaulle to the most emblematic judicial battles of our country. You defend, with an ardent pen, the causes that are close to your heart, in the name of an engagement assumed with your client and political brother, Ousmane Sonko. This engagement is legitimate. It is that of a militant lawyer, rooted in a quest for justice, integrity and rupture. But it falls to me, in all fraternity, to share some observations that inspire me to speak, as a free republican citizen, concerned about the common destiny of our Nation. Le Sénégal is not a binary champ. By structuring your argument around the “Project” and those who oppose it, you draw the contours of a country divided between “élus de la révolution” and “reliquats d’un ancien régime à éradiquer”. This scheme, seductive on the militant plane, may however prove dangerous for the national pact. The revolution, if there is a revolution in Europe, has been expressed by the ballot box, within the constitutional limits, and must now be translated by the overcoming of divisions and not by their hardening.
